Welcome to LightningFest 2005!

After spending a lot of time on the phone, email and general discussions, the time and place for LightningFest 2005 has been selected!

  • Location - KC International Raceway (KCIR)

  • Date - 23-25 September 2005

  • Events - 3 DAYS of drag racing

  • Events - Truck show on Sunday 25th

  • Friday night BBQ

  • Evenings free for H00TERS visits!

  • World's fastest golf cart races!

  • World's fastest motorized scooter races

  • This year there will be NO Open Track or Autocross

    Truck Show Classes Released E-mail

    Bling! Bling! And Gasoline, Baby!

    The official classes for the truck show have been released. The six classes are:

    • Gen 1 Mild, Gen 2 Mild

    • Gen 1 Wild, Gen 2 Wild

    • Gen 1 & Gen 2 combined Radical

    • Best of Show (selected by spectators)

    NOTE: HD Trucks will be placed in the appropriate Gen 2 classes

    Local Event Photographer Saves the Day E-mail

    Due to the Hurricanes affecting our original event photographer,we needed to find someone to cover ths weekends event.  In steped Shawn Spry of Adrenaline Images to help us out.  They will photograph much of the event, and sell online the photos that you wish to purchase.  Check with the NLOC tent for further information.

    Worlds Fastest Golf Cart Drag Race E-mail

    In keeping with the "Great Golf Car Drag Race" of LightningFest 2003 and 2004, we will again have the "World's Fastest Golf Cart" drag race run with Shawn Fuss and Dwight Dolliver as the sole entrants.  This is a "DO NOT MISS" event as all methods of cheating are allowed!

    We are once again trying to find a suitable trophy for this stunning event.

    Registration Fees Announced! E-mail

    The pricing for LightningFest 2005 will be as follows:

    • NLOC/NHTOC members (before 15 July) $60
    • NLOC/NHTOC members (after 15 July) $75
    • Non-members (before 15 July) $75
    • Non-members (after 15 July) $95

    This registration fee includes one (1) vehicle to compete and two (2) people (driver and one other).   This also includes 1 drag class and 1 show class entry.  Additional trucks and drag class entries require additional fees paid at event registration.  The additional costs is $45 for each additional truck and or drag class.

    BBQ costs are:

    • Adults $10.50
    • Children (under 12) $6.50

    Event T-Shirts:

    •  $18/each.


    Included in this years fees are 3 days of Drag Racing and Truck Show on Sunday.
